Brewery Tour Hallertau

Hops, Breweries & Beers

3 days of beer experience in the Hallertau

Holidays in the Hallertau are the order of the day. The region has a large number of culinary, cultural and architectural specialties ready. As if the hops weren't special enough in their splendor, in the Hallertau you will find treasures with their very own charm. The history of hop growing alone, which has been documented in the region since the 8th century, can be explored in many ways in this fascinating landscape; the German Hop Route and the Bavarian Beer Route run through this area. On its course through the hop-growing area, there are breweries and museums that bear witness to one of the most Bavarian of all cultural assets, the purity law and brewing techniques - including the opportunity to try things out, of course. The beauty of the Bavarian Beer Road, which has paths for hikers, cyclists, and motorists and motorcyclists alike, ends at the Danube Gorge, where the Weltenburg Abbey and the spa town of Bad Gögging with the Limes thermal baths are located.

Highlights of this trip:

• 2 nights in a family guesthouse or guest house • Visit to 3 of the most beautiful breweries

• Including minibus or bus • Including beer menu: 7 courses - 7 beers

A Guest in the Home of Hops

The Hallertau hop country is known as the largest contiguous hop growing area in the world and is located, so to speak, on the border between Upper Bavaria and Lower Bavaria. Anyone traveling to the Hallertau does not have to be an adventurer. However, you can be prepared for surprises when you visit this hilly landscape in the center of Bavaria. In any case, the Holledau, as the people there affectionately call their home, is a paradise, especially in summer. Then the large green hop gardens shape the landscape. In winter, the toboggan, cross-country skiing and walking trails are ideal for pure relaxation outdoors. Hiking trails with melodious names such as Michaels-Weg, Marienweg or Nikolausweg are first-class routes for nature lovers regardless of the seasons.

The hop country itself covers an area of more than 17,000 hectares on the hop gardens with the up to seven meters high columns, the hop poles, which put an unmistakable stamp on them. When the aromatic, fragrant climbing plants wind their way up the stretched wires to reveal the umbels that are ready for harvest at the end of August, then this area is marked by an impressive green. And the smell of the freshly harvested hops is beguiling. Stop in the Holledau and let yourself be surprised!
