Prunn Castle

Prunn Castle is one of the best preserved medieval castles in Bavaria. In 1575 a splendid manuscript of the Nibelungenlied was found here. The exhibition "Knights, warriors, noble women - Prunn Castle and the Nibelungenlied" provides exciting insights into the time of the Middle Ages.

Rosenburg

The Rosenburg is the landmark of Riedenburg and dates from the 2nd half of the 12th century. Today the Rosenburg houses a falconry and a falconry museum with impressive flight demonstrations.

Schulerloch Stalactite Cave

Kuchlbauer's world of beer with the Kuchlbauer tower is a cult site of beer that unites the topics of beer and art in a unique way. The Kuchlbauer wheat beer brewery, which has had brewing rights since 1300, is one of the oldest breweries in the world.

Kuchelbauer Tower

Since 2010, the Kuchlbauer Tower, an architectural project based on plans by the artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, has been attracting many thousands of visitors each year. You can experience the tower "up close" on a guided tour.

Art House

You can also visit the KunstHausAbensberg, which was built according to plans by Peter Pelikan. The exhibition gives you an insight into the plans, works and life of Friedensreich Hundertwasser.

Danube Boat Trip

Danube Gorge and Weltenburg Monastery

One of the most beautiful excursion destinations in Bavaria is the “Weltenburger Enge” nature reserve with the impressive Danube Gorge. In 2020 it was named “Bavaria's First National Natural Monument”.

The “Weltenburger Enge” with the Danube Gorge can be ideally experienced from the water - relaxed on board an excursion boat.

Weltenburg Abbey with its Brewery

Weltenburg Abbey was founded by wandering monks around the year 600, making it the oldest monastic settlement in Bavaria. Around the year 800 the abbey adopted the rules of St. Benedict. Looking back on an eventful, centuries-old past, the Weltenburg monastery brewery can proudly call itself the oldest monastery brewery in the world.

The Scheyern Monastery

Scheyern Abbey & its Businesses

The Scheyern Monastery was founded over 900 years ago at the foot of the Wendelstein in Bayrischzell and moved from there via Fischbachau and the Petersberg to Scheyern in 1119. Since then, Benedictine monks have lived in this historic place, which was previously known as the ancestral seat of the Bavarian rulers, the Wittelsbachers.

In order to be able to carry out its tasks in the educational and pastoral sector, as well as to maintain the monumental monastery length, the monastery community maintains a number of commercial operations. This includes extensive agriculture, forestry and pond management, the monastery brewery and butchery, a monastery shop and also the monastery tavern with a brewery, beer garden and hotel as well as a conference and guest house.

The monastery endeavors to promote regional cycles in all operations.
